Baker Tilly South East Europe Celebrates Merger with MHA and 30 Years of Excellence
Baker Tilly South East Europe held an official event in Athens to commemorate both its merger with the UK-based professional services group MHA and the 30th anniversary of the firm’s establishment.
The event was held under the support of the British Embassy in Athens at the Hotel Grande Bretagne and was attended by representatives of the Greek Government, the diplomatic community, business organisations and professional partners.
Addresses were delivered by Marios A. Klitou, Chief Executive Officer of Baker Tilly South East Europe, Matthew James Lodge, UK Ambassador to Greece, Panagiotis Theodorikakos, Greek Minister of Development, and Rakesh Shaunak, Chairman of MHA. The speakers referred to the role of international cooperation and professional services in supporting economic activity and cross-border investment.
In his address, Mr. Klitou referred to the firm’s development over time and the importance of institutional continuity, professional credibility and long-standing cooperation with clients and partners in supporting its operations.
The merger with MHA places Baker Tilly South East Europe within a wider group operating in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with coverage across South East Europe and a recent expansion into the United Arab Emirates. MHA is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Reference was also made to Greece’s strengthening position as a stable and reliable investment destination, supported by ongoing economic reforms, improved governance and increased international engagement. Within this framework, the merger was presented as contributing to greater regional cooperation, facilitating cross-border business activity and enhancing the capacity of professional services to support investment, trade and sustainable economic activity across South East Europe.
Mr. Rakesh Shaunak, Chairman of MHA, noted that the merger reflects a shared commitment to professional standards and long-term development within an international framework.
This merger between Baker Tilly South East Europe and MHA sends a clear message of ambition and confidence: Connecting markets, accelerating expansion across Europe, and investing decisively in Greece’s future.
